The Story

The small industrial town of Borlänge had a reputation as a crime city. It was known as 'the Chicago of Sweden'. But every year it would transform; Peace & Love wasn't just about the music, it came with a vision for a better world and a message against violence and discrimination. Little by little things began to change.

With this film, we want to show our respect to Sweden's most loved festival of its time by re-visiting the early days, showing our gathered data on how Borlänge changed, and sharing the memories from the good times and the bad.

Between 2012-2013, Peace & Love went from being an international success story to just another bankrupt festival.

During this time, we filmed behind the scenes and in the homes of Jesper Heed, the founding visionary, and Mark Berryman, whose work was to communicate the message of Peace & Love.

Our material gives a unique perspective of what happened from the inside. It reveals the internal difficulties, the struggle of dealing with the public's high expectations, and the personal trauma of immense financial pressure.
