“Giants and the Morning After” is a subtle understated drama about a very small community Ydre, deep in the forest in Sweden where the mayor has made his top priority the survival of the community! It’s a film about responsibility, love for the community and sense of belonging told with an anchored humor about ordinary enlightened moments of everyday on-going life. It’s a universal story of depopulation of the countryside but where the mayor maybe has found the solution.
Ydre’s small-town spirit shapes the tone and atmosphere, which are further highlighted by odd stories such as about Giant Bule and the Mother of all Cows from the unknown dim past weaved together with the mysterious and magical natural surroundings of the area.
